Apple claims the ANC mode is now 1.5 times stronger than in the previous generation, which means that you’ll get to block out your noisy coworkers, commuters, and so on. When you’re out and about on the streets and you want to stay aware of your surroundings, Adaptive Audio will adjust the noise levels automatically.
You’ll also get a slew of features, such as Conversation Awareness, which lowers the volume when you start talking to someone, so you can chat them up without taking the headphones off, and Live Translation, which will automatically translate foreign languages in real-time right in your ears.
The headphones only deliver up to 20 hours of listening time, which should be plenty for long trips, and a quick 5-minute charge gives you an extra 1.5 hours of listening time. And if you want to enjoy lossless audio straight from the source, you can use the included USB-C cable to listen in wired mode.
While $399 is a fantastic price for these premium headphones, it’s a shame that not all colors are available for the same price. All other colors are $100 more right now, however, and that’s a big enough price difference that getting the Starlight model is a no-brainer.
