Fresh explosions heard in Iran

Iranian news agencies report that there are strikes in Iran for a third day. Iran yesterday retaliated against US bases in the region and is threatening to take that further. The risk is that they start attacking energy or civilian infrastructure in the countries hosting US bases.

On this headline, oil prices have rebounded but it's not entirely surprising as an hour or so ago, the Israeli press was reporting that strikes were coming, or that bombers were flying towards Iran.

Update: There is a report from Barak Ravid saying the US hasn't carried out strikes.

That could mean:

  1. The explosions didn't happen
  2. Someone else (Israel? The UAE?) was behind them

Update 2:

Now Iran's state TV is denying that there were any explosions.

What a bizzare episode. Oil prices are giving it back now.

Update 3: Now IRNA cited a Bushehr official said that a military site on the outskirts was hit and that sounds of explsions in the city were caused by air defense.
